Pexagon Technology Awards “Flash Fiesta” Winner 1,000 1GB Prepaid Flash Drive Cards

Ashbrook High School was picked randomly among thousands of entrants in Pexagon’s Flash Fiesta Promotion. The Flash Fiesta Promotion was announced in January 2008 to celebrate the launch of Pexagon’s Prepaid Flash Drive Card Fundraising Program.

Since January, school teachers have been invited to enter Pexagon’s Flash Fiesta for the chance to win a Grand Prize of 1,000 1GB prepaid flash drive cards or one of our weekly drawings for 20 prepaid cards. Each Prepaid card is redeemable for a 1GB personalized flash drive.

Larry Carpenter, Guidance Counselor at Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, North Carolina entered the contest at an education trade show. Ashbrook High School intends to use these flash drives to enhance student learning and support technology initiatives. Most of the 1,000 cards will be issued to juniors for use in their graduation projects. The remaining cards will be used as incentives for students to have perfect attendance. Each Prepaid card is redeemable for a 1GB personalized flash drive. Students will follow a simple four-step process to redeem the Prepaid card: pick one of 14 colors, choose one of 32 designs or the school logo, and enter up to two lines of personal text. Each USB Flash Drive will be made to order and shipped directly to the student, free of tax and shipping.

“Pexagon’s Prepaid Flash Drive Cards were invented by schools, for schools,” stated Brian Campbell, President of Pexagon Technology, Inc. “Hundreds of schools buy these redemption cards at a discount, for example $10 for a 1GB card, and sell to students and the school community for $15 or $20, keeping the difference for their fundraising programs.” Mr. Campbell continued, “We are really pleased to see these personalized USB Flash Drives put to such a good use.”

Pexagon’s personalized USB Flash Drives are available in 14 colors and six capacities. The Prepaid Flash Drive Cards are available in 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities. Pexagon offers the Prepaid cards to schools as part of its various fundraising programs. Prepaid cards are available to schools on a consignment basis so they can run a fundraiser with no upfront cash (Pexagon will consign cards for specific education events) and no burden for the fundraiser to take orders or deliver product. Schools simply buy at the school’s discounted price and sell for their profit.

Pico USB Flash Drive

Teeniest flash drive around

Geeks, who have been around for long enough, remember their first hard-drives. Some remember their first gigabyte, others remember forty megabytes while even some remember luggage-sized 5 meg drives. It continually shocks us when newer and smaller storage is made available, and we get all giggly when it happens.

No exception, this little drive is the smallest we’ve ever seen. Barely bigger than the tip of your pinky, and less than 4mm thick, it’s positively small. The polished chrome finish is certainly shiny, but at 8 gigabytes, it’s redonkulously teeny!

Store four full length ripped movies, five days worth of music, more than four-thousand 5 megapixel photos, or eighty-meters worth of shelved books. Sure, it’s so small you could easily lose it, so we’ve included a chain to help keep it around.
