The NOK 0.6 million order from one of the largest banks in India is for NEXT’s FAP20 sensors, which will be integrated in a tablet and used for Aadhar authentication purposes. The order was received despite the upgrade of liveness specification UADAI has made, which indicates the high confidence our partner has in the reopening of the L1 biometrics market in India.
“We are very proud that our key partner has received this order from one of the most prominent banks in the Indian banking industry. The L1 transition is progressing rapidly right now with the banking sector leading the change, closely followed by various other sectors”, said Digvijay Singh Kanwar, Senior Vice President and Head of Sales India, USA, EU and Africa (IUEA), at NEXT.
“The end customers now understand and appreciate the value of our liveness detection and the added security it brings. As a positive result, we have noticed an increased demand, where agencies specifically ask for our FAP20 Active Thermal technology fingerprint sensors. NEXT is well prepared to serve the Aadhaar L1 market with its high-end sensors”, concluded Digvijay Singh Kanwar.
“The banking system requires high security solutions; hence, we led this tender with NEXT’s FAP20 sensors, which specializes in liveness detection. We are very thrilled and excited that the bank will now be implementing one of the most secure solutions that exist on the market.” Ajay Sinha, Managing Director, ACPL.
The tablet will be supplied to the bank by an un-named Indian OEM, using L1 Aadhaar modules from NEXT’s long-term partner, ACPL.
