Challenge/wanted outcome: Expand high-end product line with lower cost devices for markets that require FAP 20 sized sensors
Credence ID, a US based leader in global mobile biometrics and credential reading devices, wanted to expand its existing high-end Android product line to include a set of lower cost devices for developing markets in Africa, Latin America and South East Asia that require FAP 20 sized sensors. Credence ID has identified customer demand for solutions in the government ID and flexible Mobile ID device markets requiring competitively priced, secure, high-performance PIV certified mobile ID devices. This new product line, the “ECO” generation is to be marketed separately from their existing FAP 30 devices. Key criteria in the evaluation process was to find a supplier that can be a global partner and have a world leading technology at a competitive price level. After evaluation of several fingerprint technologies and providers globally, Credence ID decided to design in NEXT Biometrics patented and FBI PIV certified Active Thermal FAP20 fingerprint sensor (One Touch 2000)
